Overdone it?

  • Isn't my bmi a bit higher than yours? I'm very slightly hench though.

  • imageimage EDIT: these smileys were supposed to relate to the post about Stevie's training if Lou had the best time! NOT you been hench and having the highest BMI!!

Of course that's a bit unlikely because Lou has been injured for last 6(???) weeks.

I should also have added after Lou's 10k time - (mainly uphill, not a PB course, 180 degree corners at finish blah, blah, blah)

I could add details for Richard too - he's slightly slower but in a game of top trumps Richard would be the best to have for number of half marathons run!

    Richard Hill

    Age 42 (??) Weight???

    Height ???

    10k 45:04

    HM 98:46

Of course the three of you have all done a full marathon but I'm not including that in the statsimage

  • Oh go on... which of us has done it fastest? image

  • Your 3:06:16 beats Richard's 3:56:57 and I may have presumed wrongly that Lou had done one by a comment he made a few weeks ago.

It's interesting for me that 2 years ago when I started running again it was a bucket list aim to run a marathon that got me started again (and to beat 1:35 for a HM) - at the time a marathon time less than 4 hours was my dream (I had forgotten this until writing the above) - now if I could only reset my mind back to the original goal then a marathon might not be too unpleasant.

  • I don't think Lou has done a marathon (see stalking info). You made that up.

You could run a marathon in less than 4 hours tomorrow as long as you didn't tell Stevie.

  • Lit - you must be one of those 'professional rugby player types' who are always cited as proof that bmi is meaningless.

No marathon yet. I have entered Brighton next year though so my plan will be mostly easy mileage for the next couple of months. So, although I'll probably do Worksop HM and perhaps Morton Morrell 10k this year I won't be appropriately trained for those distances so a comparison would be unfair.image

    8 stone 12.

My wife is 5'4" and 8 10 - her pb for a parkrun (only done one) is 31:05 though so don't think height and weight are the only factorsimage

Richard - I entered the Dumfries race online - have you been sent a number or anything? Obviously I've printed off all the confirmation and everytihng but I vaguely remember being sent the number in the post last year - I am old though so it might just be my dodgy memory!

Would you be going straight from work, I could give you a lift if you wanted?

  • Tommy2DTommy2D ✭✭✭

Lou - have you done Worksop HM before? If so what's it like? I'm looking for an alternative to Nottingham and can't decide between Worksop and Leicester.

  • I've not done worksop before, but I've had a look at the profile and it looks fairly flat.  Pleasant looking route through Clumber Park.

    Cheaper than Leicester.

  • T2D - please feel free to drop in your PBs and vital statisticsimage - don't think Lit has successfully stalked you yet!

  • Tommy2DTommy2D ✭✭✭

Maybe...I quite like being under the radar.

(Plus you're all a bit faster than me!)

    Bet I could though.

In other news, Stevie is trying to kill me with 10k pace reps.

PS: Tommy, do Nottingham! All the *ahem* best people are...

  • Tommy2DTommy2D ✭✭✭

    To save you the hassle...

    Height 6ft (just)

    Weight 11st 5

    PB's

    5K - 21:32

    5m - 34:46

    10k - 43:46

HM - 01:41:30 (ran as part of marathon training build up so probably a bit out of line-hence looking for an autumn HM)

    Marathon - 03:54:19.

  • Tommy2DTommy2D ✭✭✭

Lit - would love to do Nottingham as that was my first 'proper' race this time last year (01:48:30) so would be interesting to see the improvement and I liked the course. However, I'm not around that weekend so need to look elsewhere.

  • I bet Skinny's got a spreadsheet with everyone's stats on by now.

  • Okay Lit - I didn't have but in my lunch hour I have lovingly put this together - on my spread sheet it highlights the 'best' on each Stat - a bit like 'Overdone It? Top Trumps' but unfortunately it doesn't show below.image

Anyway who is the best card to have depends on whether or not it is better to be the youngest, shortest and lightest OR oldest, highest and heaviest.

    Stat Skinny Lit Lou Richard Tommy             Age 45 31 40 42   Height 6'0" 5'4" 6'1" 5'10" 6'0" Weight 10st 4 8st 12 11st 7 11st 5 11st 5 5k/pr 00:19:15 00:20:16 00:20:08 NT 00:21:32 5m 00:31:17 00:32:12 00:32:16 00:38:40 00:34:46 10k 00:41:19 00:40:59 00:40:10 00:45:04 00:43:46 HM 01:29:08 01:28:26 01:29:02 01:38:46 01:41:30 HMs 2013 0 1 2 7   Marathon NT 03:06:16 NT 03:56:57 03:54:19

At current standards it is quite good because we clearly have 3 of us at one competitive level and then 2 of us at a different competitive level but should be good for pushing us all on.

Tommy - I'm missing a couple of stats for you.

Lit - tell me some more about your 10k pace reps - were you doing miles (which I failed on a few weeks ago) or kms?

EDIT: Oh for fks sake - that's not how it looked before I pressed Submitimage - does anyone know how to paste a spreadsheet?

  • Tommy2DTommy2D ✭✭✭

Good work Skinny - I can just about work it out, I wonder if it would work better if you paste it as 'plain text' using the 'T' thing above?

As you say 2 distinct groups, will make it my target for the next year to get a promotion. Hopefully my 10k time will come down a bit at Wilne in 10 days time and the HM time at the end of October.

    Edit: I'm 31 btw

  • All the best runners are 31, Tommy.

Skinny - kms and far too many of them. On last one I had nightmare vision of getting to the end only to find I'd miscounted and still had two left, but luckily it was just my fevered imagination playing tricks on me. Was quite warm out and nearly drowned in my own sweat.

I've done 1 HM this year.

  • Tommy - I've not done it but Mablethorpe half is the week after Nottingham and is apparently pretty flat.

  • Or shrink or get younger - any changes then 'Overdone It Top Trumps' needs updatedimage

    Or grows a bit.

Cheers for the heads up on Mablethorpe, will consider it but everytime I've been to Mablethorpe or anywhere on the east coast its been blowing a gale. Also if I opt for Worksop then I get three weeks more training which would be useful given the past couple of weeks I've done limited running.

  • I had a feeling I was droppin gbehind a bit and that 5 mile time has just reminded me why.

  • I think there is unlimited potential for spreadsheet expansion here. Perhaps you should have total numbers of all race distances in 2013, and more importantly highest WAVA score and number of medals won.

  • I'll need some help with everyone's figures for some of those although my medals count won't take too longimage

Training mileage during the year which we could all update every Monday?

I didn't think you approved of WAVA - or is it okay if you have the bestimage

RunBritain handicap would be another you are probably winning on at the moment.
