I'm in, will be my first 100.
  • Not for me this one, flat races make me cry. Though I'll happily put myself in for a couple of aid stations again. You going to run it WiB?
  • I thought after doing the sdw as my first 100 id like to try a flatter one.
  • I'm in!!! ...to get my revenge the 100m distance!!!

  • No wont be running it Lirish... I am at Rocky Raccoon in Feb and got my eye on SDW so dont want to overload myself 100s as I have got a few other races I want to do next year. Will put my name down for sweeping or aid station duties.

  • I'm in, my first 100.

  • I'm in. Looking forward to it...

  • I'm in, unfinished business from this year

GeeBee2, flatter doesn't make it any easier

  • Flatters definatly easier as long as you don't fall into the trap of starting too quickly and not having regular walk breaks.
  • The problem being that most people fall into precisely that trap!

  • I'm in image the start of the grandslam i think.
  • lingster, what do you think, is the tp100 easier than the sdw?
  • please say it is, cos I've paid my money now.
  • I guess the answer to that would be "yes, with some strong qualifications".

    I'm in again too!

Fingers crosses for better weather this time, thank god its not on this weekend!
  • All booked up. Looking forward to this- off to London today to buy some of the compulsory kit then will recce the route over the summer holidays.

  • I would say it'll be a different challenge than the sdw like you said geebee got to get the pacing right and take walking breaks from the start. Lookin forward ti tgis one tho be nice not havin chalk paths to run on image
  • Less blisters and less hills, what could possibly go wrong?

Amazing how fast the places are going 177 already. Race and organisers must be good.

Jeremy, one of the best in terms of rganisation I've known. Hopefully the checkpoint cut offs in the second third of the race will be levelled off, it won't rain and things will be perfect!
  • I'm in again !!

JeremyG yes & yes excellent image

Now I'm looking forward to 26 weeks of training .................

  • First training run today!!! Back in the zone, but still can't feel some toes from the UTSW 2 weeks ago :-/

Already signed up for the TT50 again as the warm up for this.

First hurdle for me is the Ridgeway85 next month!
  • On the one hand I'm really glad the sport is growing like it is but on the other it's doing my little head in that I need to plan my racing nearly a year ahead to get into some of the races I want to run, and that's not even the ones with a ballot system!
  • Less than 50 places left now.

  • Havin done both i would say this was harder than the SDW for a few good reasons.

    (a) Running on the flat for all that time using the same muscle groups is a killer on the legs.

    (b) The temptation to go off too fast is hard to resist as the trail at the beginning is so runable.

    (c) The night section is bleak and a total head f**k

    (d) The last 15/20 mile is a horrible rutted trail.

All adds to the fun tho and i can't wait.image

  • dill, I didn't need to hear that, I think that its better that you keep your negativity to yourself. the tp100 is easy, I don't care what anybody says.
  • mr fmr f ✭✭✭
Gee, there are many words I could choose to describe the tpu100 but 'easy' is not one of them.
