  • I'll be there, either supporting, relaying or making a tit of myself attempting the whole thing image

  • I've pre registered to image Sarah get your name down you can drag Cake round thenimage
  • MC come on, go on, you know you want toimage
  • image Sarah already filled my details in before i know it was open. image

  • image I'm kind like that image

  • My name is down! No idea how I'm going to pay for it, or find the time for training, but I assume things will work out in the end image

  • Nice one Sarah image let Cake worry about paying lol

ST - yeah, I would like to, but honestly, I am not going to find time for training this year, would rather target a HIM 2013 and save outlaw for 2014 when I will have built up more. I have to take things slowly at my ageimage

  • image Mathschick. Worth considering the relay route if you want to play?

  • Doing the marathon Bookie, argggg! Hehehe
  • Lee I'll get the pompoms ready for you imageimage

  • mathschickmathschick ✭✭✭

cake - yeah, but I am so slow at all 3 disciplines I am not sure which I could offer to do! Certainly don't think I will be up to cycling 112 miles by next summer - which is kind of why I don't want to enter it solo. I would be very happy to be part of the feedstation crew though

  • Maths you've not met some of us yet. Doesn't matter if your the slowest or the quickest it's about taking part. The caveat is that if your as slow as me this year it might go wrong.

We're filing another relay team image But this time we're definitely sticking to the stuff we can do...

  • How old are you Chick ? I didn't start tri til I was 49 and did IM the following year. ,

    Get on with it.

Cake I'll ass you a Guinness or 2 on the way round

cake - that is why I think I should wait till 2014! I can only imagine how gutting it must have been. I think if that happened to me I would a) find it hard to have another go and b) might not get the support from home to have another go. I don't think OH understands my mentality or why I would want to do something like that at all.

Mind you - if anyone is looking for someone for a slow relay team I am gameimage just don't ask me to do the cycling bit. I still haven't plucked up the courage to try to drink while moving - I have to stop. When I read about people eating every 15 minutes I don't think I would reach the cutoff if I stopped every 15 minutes to eat!

  • Mathschick, at this stage just under 12 months away ok nearly 11 months is more than enough time to prepare and train. I mean your not gonna have a training plan of 23 months are you? Most plans will kick in around Dec so from now till then is a bonus. Your doing a Marafun in November so will have good base of running, you swim fine already, just the bike to crack? It is very daunting that's why it's such a great challenge. My plan will be based around 16.59 finish and I'll work back from there. A DNF is hard to swallow for everyone but can happen to anyone, it's the journey!! image
  • 16:59:59? Me too!

I'll race you to the finish line Pixie image

  • mathschickmathschick ✭✭✭

oh - when do you have to decide to commit? what does pre-register mean?

Evil Pixie - yep I am a maths teacher and now on holidayimage

is it bad that I don't go to work social things because I want to be able to get out of bed the next morning to do some training?

  • mathschickmathschick ✭✭✭

    Dave - I am 44 - about 2 stone overweight.

  • mathschickmathschick ✭✭✭

well, pre-registering only means I will get info, so I have done it.

  • Mathschick that's great, I thought 2 stone over weight was the norm lol I'm Silver Trucker and I am 2 stone over weightimage plus you now have 6 weeks off work to train then 6 weeks work before another week off then 6 weeks at work before two weeks of for Christmasimage infact you have about 12 weeks off before outlawimage plenty of time Mathschick. Don't worry you can kick my ass all round Rutland in November lol
