nice one, nobody died last year, though the thought occurred to many of us! Just putting yourself on the line says something about your aspirations to get better at triathlon, get fitter, learn to swim cycle or run. At the very least we can all suffer together like and desperate swarm of bees..
mmmmuuuuuaaaaarrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! Like tommy Going to have to wait till payday was down London Village last week and was more expensive than I throught it would be.
yellow last year I was very surpliced to see if sell out by november it's getting to be a popular race so there is a risk it will sell out but doubt it. If the entries get about say 700 in the next day or so i would sell a kidney or something but other wise don't panic.
Holgs I thought you were skipping the long stuff next year, or was that another pirate?
Discussions have started with my family, hubby has said ican if I really want to but I must promise not to get hurt or damage myself training etc. So just the kids to talk round now
I shall be good and not enter until they've all mumble the word OK or Yes or any variation on that theme.
The camping is right by the start, you couldn't stay any closer without hiring a boat for the lake. I realised 10 minutes before the start I'd left my timing chip in the tent and was able to run over and get it, panic a bit more, then get in the water with lots of time.
The camp site is nice enough, lots of space though it did go from pretty empty on Friday night quite full by Sat night, still lots of places to camp though, no worries about not finding a space. (Plus there will probably be a Pirate area bagsied )
The facilities are ok, but basic. Cost was cheap, think £7ish per night per person per tent. No need to book, just turn up.
You can get cooked food from the cafe/restaurant next to the lake and I think the camp site had a small shop where you check in.
haven't seen the email.............it sold out last year pretty quickly didn't it........i have no money so will chuck it on the credit card and hope that something will ocme up.............I have started training for it so had better get myself an entry
@ Mathschick we're in I've also entered Toucs for the individual while he popped out to the shops for a pasty
great better work on the running then. I did get a 5 mile pb last night first time I have ever done a 5 mile race, but I was still very happy with my time

I think it was December when it sold out last year
I wouldn't be suprised if it sells out earlier this year - it's a great race, increasing in popularity and with the tv coverage (although perhaps only insomniacs saw it...) it might get even more of a boost.

But only if you like dry toast - or fancy getting up early!!
And yes, I'm sure we'll be "reserviing" a Pirate area at the camp site again

Still undecided...
