PC91 - I saw the comment about not feeling myself and rubbed my hands with glee...only to see my 'that's right, I've heard it makes you go blind' comment was waaaaay too late. Gradually geting better though. Felt terrible on Monday but a lot better since - other than becoming a one man oxtail soup production facility for a couple of hours on each of Thursday and Saturday when my body had a last tilt at getting rid of the bacteria/virus.
If anyone is in Paris before Saturday I'd strongly recommend doing the breakfast run. It'll keep you loose, kill some time, let you see the finish and calm a lot of nerves. Friends and family can do it too.
Okay, so pre-pasta meet up at the arc (std position, side closest to the champs, the right leg with your back to the champs) at 5:30 for anyone that's interested. Should give us time to wander down to hook up with the rest of the posse.
I'd have liked to but probably not. I havent ran at all for about 5 weeks and PF is gradually easing. Physio's advice is to start with 5 mins run, one minute walk x4 and build from that every other day but not due to start that until after Paris. As I'm staying nearby I'll definitely be around at the finish of it.
Love this - the only place I know where we plan pre-meetup meetups in order to go to a meetup.
I'm in the Hotel Cujas Pantheon if anyone staying in the 5th wants to meet there, then head over to the Arc for the pre-meet-up meet-up. Be nice to walk the first few hundred metres of the race I reckon.
I know I've been a fairly, erm, "Intermittent" member of the forum but would still be cool to meet up with you guys!
Will most likely do my own thing in the build up but will prob head over to Corcorans for the post race celebrations if that's ok? Which one is it? Google is giving me 3 of them in Paris!
Am having huge paris marathon envy - oh and also because I've still got one more long run to go ....
Lovely run with only basil this morning as reg very tired and took himself back to bed. Very little wind on the cliff path and ....... Sunshine 5miles done legs feeling good no side effects from Good Friday.
Kaz, Yer maj, RS and TD thanks for the belief and thanks for the kind and reassuring words. .....
PF - sounds like it's all going to plan - and also looks likely that you won't have the heat issues you've had to deal with in the past. Plus you've worn the dog out - you must have done enough training .
I'll be at the Arc early pre-pasta. Corcoran's is the one at Rue St Andre des Arts (nearest Metro Saint Michel).
DLR - sounds like you're on the mend. But your timing is out - you usually save the revolting descriptions for early morning posts, just in time to ruin my breakfast. Usually when I'm eating Nutella .
Weather forecast for here tomorrow morning similar to race day in Paris, so I'm planning a dress rehearsal. I'm thinking 3/4 length capris, skort, thin long sleeved top and vest. I've always run in shorts and a vest before, but I don't think that'll be enough this year.
I'm planning a short sleeved t shirt under my Wales vest this year as well....plus capris I think, although I am still in full length tights and long sleeves at the moment. I shall bring the lot, just in case....

Phill - are there any contraindications to suggest you can't eat a toblerone?
i will try to eat it but only because it was off my wife
Chuff me! Our internet goes off for 36 hours and the thread doubles in size!
Kaz - get that chimp boxed! Kids should be fine in Corcorans, the French aren't so weird about kids as we are. Just bring them in.
TJB - I'll go to Corcorans early if you are. Be good to have a natter.

I'm up for that. You know where I am. Can meet in the warmth of the hotel lobby or at the arc?
Such beautiful imagery...and I've got an upset stomach now.
