Never a truer word........never take anything for granted.
We are all feeling a little emotional tonight. BF was at a house fire last night, thankfully no-one hurt, but when he was inside the burning building the roof came in on them........
Thinking of forward planning......I have been looking at the air service from here and if I have read the timetable correctly, I can leave here at 4pm and be in Paris by 9pm with only one connecting flight, and only £260......which isn't that bad! Now just to negotiate the 2 days off work.......

I just wanted to say...
...I've been able to run on each of the last 3 days. Only about 12 miles total, not quickly, and not absolutely pain free, but no great problems and after writing off nearly 9 months I am completely thrilled.
We all love to run and we've all achieved so much through running but maybe the lesson I've learned and want to share is never take it for granted and enjoy every step you take.
That's it.

Dannir - good article. It would be interesting to see how many took the anti-flams if they thought they had an underlying issue and those who took it without any.
I've taken them when I have had a problem. Not just in case.
ATM - was teasing us! she comes, she posts, she disappears for a wee while. Maybe she's figuring out this other world we've created. Wonder if we should send a helper around to sort her out...
The Docs are geeking out! You have journal clubs? Lovin' how it's about actual really important stuff like...drugs.
Orbutt - still chuckling about that too. Great posts DLR, pleased for you dude.
Am in Belfast currently. Offered Billy Connolly ticket last night from a friend. Rumours of the Big Yin's comic demise have been greatly exaggerated. I haven't laughed so much in years. If you get a chance, see him while he's still going...
I would love to see Billy, he's about the only comedian I can suffer.........apart from DLR of course!
April showers indeed, clear blue skies now which will hopefully remain at least until I get my running jacket dry- don't care about the rest of the washing!!
Morning all. Off for a serious meat-eating excursion last night - chateaubriand and chips, followed by a knickerbocker glory .Post race treat from a running friend who doesn't mind me rambling on about intervals and carbs and hamstrings and suchlike.
Glad to hear that normal service is recommencing on the DLR .
I have learned something this morning - I never knew what TT stood for before. If anything, I think I thought it meant Time Trial. How educational this thread is.
On the subject of anti-inflammatories, anyone have a view on using them after a run? Presumably inflammation is the body's response to damage, and is therefore a sign that it's fixing itself, so does that mean that by taking anti-inflammatories you would slow down the healing process? I'm talking about popping a few neurofen for aching legs, rather than dealing with a painful injury.
RR - if you're not injured, I don't recommend them. I think I've posted before on this and can't quote the article but certainly they can alter the body's healing response to post-exercise trauma. I can't believe this is a good thing. (Can you see a theme here?!)
Paracetamol or low dose co-codamol (8/500) instead?

Thats great news DLR.

Now more, bigger boobies please.
Nice one!
Kaz - yup, that'd make you a bit frazzled! Hope no one was hurt!!!
No everyone fine RS, although very sleep deprived!! surprised at my own reactions thou

Kaz - sounds like a plan!! Much better than your 24hr adventures.
And ym, rs, k1, ATM.....
And not forgetting the jimbob.
Had a beer. The wife literally gave my tea to the dog. He is looking very smug. Git.
Sorry did somebody say something?
Hmmmm the quote thing has gone bonkers.....Kaz, g;ad everybody is ok, that's scary...
Here's the lowdown on anti inflamms when running:

And here is the cover of Boston Magazine's latest issue - from shoes donated by runner's after the Marathon disaster.
DLR - excellent news! We are counting on you to join the New Mexico excursion as a participant
I've taken them when I have had a problem. Not just in case.
That Boston cover is beautiful.

Night all
You're lucky - you get to discuss the fun stuff. My next J Club (next week) we are discussing the use of sildenafel in newborns. Yes, seriously.
Someone done a rain dance??????????

+1 For the Big Yin. Not only stand up but I love his travel stuff. He's funny, genuine.
