  • Let me qualify that. Weedy, you are a loon mate. And by te way, good luck with the Hadrian's Wall Ultra this weekend!

My running has been immeasureable this last 7 days, in that I err.... haven't done any. Shame on me I know. I apologise now for this lapse of normal service and i promise to go and do 15k at lunchtime, rain or snow. And given to day is Summer's Solstice and this is Belgium, I think heavy rain will be the order of the day.

I will wear an ITLR T-Shirt to brighten up the gloomy weather. Have fun all those folks heading out west to Shrewsbury for the weekend. Have a great time without me.

Weedy - join the club - it's peeing it down here!

I'll be joining the summer soltice by running a marathon this evening image

Well my lurgy is still with me, in spite of my best efforts to kill it stone dead with wine, curry and DLR's company last night.  I do feel better today though, just coughing like I've been smoking for 40 years.  This is the bit that worries me for Sunday, to be honest.

That and the potential gin crisis....

  • E mmyE mmy ✭✭✭

YM - I heard the sirens wailing from over here. It's dramatic. How can the UK cope without gin?

Sending you some positive get well soon wishes!

  • Radar SalRadar Sal ✭✭✭

    Good luck weedy! It's a lovely route....on a bike.

Kaz - oh your poor wee boy! Guess it's pretty hard to remember he's still a bit of a pup when he's that big. Hope nothing too awful happened to him.

On other news had another clencher this morning. Had to eat late last night so think that is the cause. image

  • Good luck Weedy, and watch out for the Picts. And also to Emmy and the Shrewsburyites (is it just me or does that sound like a great name for a band?) - we expect full reports.

  • yer majyer maj ✭✭✭

Weedy - mentalist.  Good luck image

Oh there will be reports alright.  And I want Radar Sal to ensure that she mentions clenching as she passes my parents.  Preferably both times...

  • Cheers everyone. If i don't survive, it's been lovely knowing you all. Good luck Emmy for both days and everyone in Shrewsbury and Trev O and anyone else I've forgotten who's running this weekend.

yer maj - good to hear you're on the mend

Not sure if the places i'm staying at will have a computer i can use, so If you don't hear from me, I'm either incommunicado or in a hospital on a drip somewhere.

    Over and out

Good luck to everyone running this weekend.

I'll be glad to see the weekend, as long as I can get to 5:30 without killing my boss. I really need to get a new job.

  • Weedy - all the best   image

Good luck, Weedy ! You ll make a good RW cover...

  • PC -PC - ✭✭✭

Good luck to the Strawberry Halfers

Kaz - Hope you are ok. Cant you get your clients to carry your bag, it would be good training for them.

Weedy - You could have added Marcus Flavius Aquila to a previous list.  Good Luck for the Wall and remember if you fall off, try to fall southwards. I'm already trying to guess next weeks runners, Charlie Wax.

TP - Good luck, I should be there in person to cheer you on.  Sorry I'm disorganised and lazy.

Good luck to everyone else, even without looking at the list I'm sure Emmy running a marathon. All the best.

  • My nipples are killing me! image

OK, new ITLR running shirt, in the rain at lunchtime, 10miles, damaged nipps. I need to get me some 'tit bandages' rapidement!  Aaaah, they hurt so much... not good.

  • Radar SalRadar Sal ✭✭✭

I now have an image of td's nips chasing him around the room budget slasher movie style.

  • yer majyer maj ✭✭✭

Mr Maj would have an Unction for that....image

Weedy - you know that you are really out there when Emmy calls you a loon. Good luck mate.

Emmy - another night one! Wow, you go girl

And good luck to all ago the Shrew Crew.

    Full reports please.

    TD - ouch mate image

  • TD - first thing I noticed was the potential nippular trauma from the ITLR t-shirt in view of its front end decals - and that was just wandering about the house yesterday...! Hope you recover asap!

Shrewsbury types - looking forward to reports.

Weedy - you're mad, quite jealous. Good luck!

Eggy - hope I'm not hearing about you going postal on the news tonight...!

Orbutt - you're in SF still? Hope y'all are having fun out there.

    RS - clenching? I don't think I want to know really...image

Queens of the Stone Age - new album is fab. Tickets for show in November secured. So it's been a better than awful day!

    Cheers.

  • I would just like to say, for the record, that nothing chafed at all when I wore my ITLR shirt. Men, honestly. image

    I've just been looking a Weedy's Hadrian's Wall run image. That's, er, a challenge and a half.

Must stop procrastinating and get to the gym.

  • yer majyer maj ✭✭✭

You lot have never had to breastfeed, have you?  Nope, thought not.  HTFUimage

  • Emmy - have a fantastic marathon tonight.  You look great in orange  image

All of you do, these are cracking tops.  With or without blood ...

  • There was no blood TP. I didn't notice a thing out running. It was only when i was back in the office trying to have a serious discussion with a colleague and he noticed I'd started rubbing my nipps and was curious. Then I became curious and had a quick look and realised the very top layer of skin was gone. Unfortunaely, I didn't have any of that awesome gloopy nipple protection cream available to new mothers, otherwise I'd have scooped some on.

So, first run in 8 days done today. I'm hoping to get in at least a 15 and a 21km run on Sat and Sun. Need to toughen up a bit for ITLR. And not just in the legs department it seems.

  • Radar SalRadar Sal ✭✭✭

So will there be ritual tit taping among the boys each morning for ITLR?

  • DannirrDannirr ✭✭✭

First day of Alpine tour was spectacular - including the lovely run in St Moritz this morning.  Hoping to run in the morning again.

  • Wow. Dannirr - sounds just fab. Enjoy.

RS - nip guards. All the way.

  • Radar SalRadar Sal ✭✭✭

ITLR - sponsored by nip guards.  Helping boys to not HTFU, since breastfeeding began.image

  • Too funny Radar Sal. Well, to be honest, one of the biggest challenges with ITLR will be the need to keep the average pace up to 10km/h (aka HTFU I guess). Not sure nipple abuse is the way to do it.

Sunny and windy here today, hopefully a chance for another good 10 miler. Yan the Dog is pestering for exercise... so much to do.

Happy time to all in Shrewsbury today image Only pre-race drinks should be sugary ones.

  • good luck Weedy.

And good luck to all in Shrewsbury Tomorrow!

Thick fog here today so no run yetimage  Hipefully later. Another busy day ahead even thou I have the day off......

Full reports will come when i've recovered. It beasted me mentally last night. I got to mile 23 and just thought: BE OVER ALREADY.

I think there could be... as i'll have a camera - i'll make sure to post pictures!

  • Emmy - I was thinking the same. Perhaps we could sell a range of 'specialist' photos to help with the fundraising?

I hope it's not as windy on Hadrian's Wall as it is here image.

In other news, I've found a stall in my local overpriced food market that does Ethiopian food image .
