  • Mate,  I'm running in the Liverpool Marathon too.  I had a few problems with my feet and i tried all sorts of different trainers.  Eventually I bit the bullet and went to a specialist sports shop who did an assessment on my feet and gave me a few pairs to try.  They sent me running down the road and all sorts. It took about an hour from start to finish.  I ended up with a pair of Brook's that have also had a 6mm shim fitted in each shoe.  I was surprised, the trainers, included the assessment cost £80.  Best money I have ever spent in my life.  No more black toes for me! I don't know where you live, but I'm sure if you search online you can find a shop that has properly trained people that can do the same thing.
