Strain in lower leg

Hello

I'm fairly new to running and at the moment run about 3-4k around three times a week.  Quite often when I run I feel a pulling in the muscle down the inside of my lower left leg, which can then hurt for a couple of days after a run.  I do have a problem with my right ankle which has much less flexibility so I'm guessing my running style compensates for that which is then causing the strain on the muscle in my left leg.  Any ideas how to deal with this?

Many thanks

  • I found basic leg strengthening exercises quite helpful and a foam roller to stop muscles getting too tight. Make sure you are wearing the proper shoes for your gait, and go to your GP if it keeps up or gets worse it could be some kind of muscle strain.
