Butt Issues

Hi,

I wonder has anyone had a similiar problem to me.

After a long run the inside cheeks of my butt bleed. I presume it is friction and have tried different shorts etc. Any ideas for a solution?

Thanks

  • Vaseline/Bodyglide?

  • I've had similar when it's been very hot and sweaty - shorts won't cure the chafing between the cheeks but a liberal dose of vaseline will.

    bloody uncomfy eh?

  • I feel your pain. This is why I gave up on lycra shorts. I stick to "ordinary" shorts, where the chafing issue is at the top of the legs rather than in the butt crack. Still have to apply vaseline or bodyglide but the consequences of forgetting are less drastic.

  • I get thus on the rowing machine. Vaseline, baggy shorts and then put E45 on after your postrun shower. If the chafing is bad do go to GP as they can give you heavy duty plasters that help heal any open sores fast.
  • +1 for E45 as part of the treatment, plus a liberal dollop of Sudocrem overnight (don't try and rub it in, just lather it on and leave it......)
  • if you want something that is a bit different... try out this stuff.  Stops chaffage brilliantly. I just like the quirky name too - appeals to my stupid sense of humour! image

  • Another vote for Bodyglide for prevention, and for Sudocreme on the sore bits.

  • I used to think that vaseline was invented by the Romans. Turns out it was ancient Greece.

  • Thanks everyone.
