Hi All,
I am doing the birmingham half marathon in october 21st 2012 and im worried that my training is not where it should be,i have only started running 4weeks ago i would say im pretty fit to start with.im 6ft 1in weighing 12.6stone.
im currently running 3-4 times a week, longest run to date is a 10km which was timed at 56mins 10secs,of which by the end of that was pretty much had shaky legs lol
im just looking for any advice from you runners out there on how im doing and what i can do to improve my training over the next 8-9weeks that i have left.
thanks all

Find an 8 week beginners half marathon schedule, which will guide you through the training and mileage increases. This is an 8 week walk-run programme designed to get you around the course which may be useful. As you can already run for 10km, you may be able to cut the walking as long as you take the running easy. http://images.meredith.com/fitness/pdf/Beginner2.pdf
hey, i had a good weeks training last week which consisted of a 9km run on thursday which felt preety easy,so i thought on my saturday long run i would go for 15km which again found not to bad so carried on and completed 21.5km in 2hours 10mins that was really pushing myself to my limit but im so glad i have atchually done the distance and know what to expect from the distance now,so im hoping the remainder of my training schedule can be to help me reduce my time,i did set myself a goal of 2hours when i signed up so hopefully i can reach that ))
hey ,,, talk about late notice ..Any body got a spare entry pack for this years Birmingham half marathon 2012?? .. x
