Trionium Knacker Cracker 10K

  • woohoo image well done Dr Rob, it's gonna be a party.

  • We need more marshals! Anyone able to come down and help from 9.45 on 1 January will be gratefully accepted! Email me at rob@trionium dot com if you can make it... please!

Unfortunately I have a calf+achillees injury that is stopping me running, so if anyone wants to buy my place, please email me at  phil @  and hopefully Dr Rob can transfer my entry over image

  • If you want to swap over, just email me the old name and the new name (DoB, club, email, age).

The course is WET and MUDDY! No sign of the stepping stones...

  • I bet re very wet & muddy!!! So, how are we going to 'find' the elusive stepping stones then? image

  • Er... they are under water, to the tune of 2 feet - no way to get across them. Just run around the cone, and retrace your steps, back over the footbridge.

  • Philip H, is your place still available please? I was too late to enter this year, gutted. Would happily buy it from you. Thanks
  • I'm staring to get excited about this now - and I got the final piece of my costume sorted out today image

I'm intending to do a long run on Sunday morning which will include most of the course, so it will be interesting to see just how slippy it is. I may even run down to the river to see if I can see the stepping stones....

Yes - still available right now, but I have had 2 emails asking about it ... but no-one has definitely committed.

  • I'll commit! What do you need me to do?

My place has now been taken by Ellan I.

  • Late notice but if anyone else has a place I would take it...
  • Has anyone else yet to decide what to wear? Oh god, I just want some inspiration! image Looking forward to seeing you all on the slopes for some fun slippin' and slidin'

  • Looking forward to some wet and muddy fun. After batman last year it's ghostbusters this time including photon gun and backpack image
  • Mad Hatter for me.

Let's face it, we all must be as mad as a hatter to do this, so seems appropriateimage
  • I am unable to do Knacker Cracker 2013 due to injury...

I was going as a tea lady, Caroline, my wife, still is...

If you fancy having a go let me know and you can 'buy' the entry with the money going to the race charity...

I have OK'd this with Dr Robert race director...

If you're in Romford, Ilford, Dagenham area let me know & I'll give you a lift...

  • It's gone... Power of Facebook!!

See you all Tuesday, I'm gonna turn up anyway, and Mrs Lemmy will want a lift... ;o)
  • Looking forward to it-My 2nd Knacker Cracker. Going to be muddy,slippery...but good fun.

Going as one of the Thunderbirds.

  • Still undecided! Having a big party at ours tonight, and guests are threatening to kit me out in a selection of items from the wife's Autumn Collection! Serves me right for being an indecicive git!

Happy New Year and see you all in the morning.

  • Alistair - Lady Penelope?
  • Wow - given today's weather I'm not sure if I shouldn't come equipped with an arc as well. Those slopes are going to be adventurous. All makes the run more fun image
  • The ship is ready. Just hope the wind always blows uphill.

  • Lemmy-Didn't think of that! No Virgil.

Had contemplated dressing up as a woman- but bottled it. I remeber last year over hereing a lady runner sayong that she thorught that the onlhy reason men were running was so that they could get dressed in drag- made me smile!!!

May need some flippers rather than trainers!

Going to bed now (not toooooo p#ssed, so should be ok for tomorrow image).

REALLY looking forward to the run (slip) now.

    See y'all on the slopes.

  • I met a National Trust volunteer ranger while out laying out the course yesterday afternoon: "It's the muddiest I've seen Box Hill for 30 years," says he.

    Good luck everyone!

    Slip sliding away

    Slip sliding away

You know the nearer your destination, the more you slip sliding away.......
  • Huge thank you to Dr Rob, his family and all the volunteers/ marshals for another awesome Knacker Cracker. The only way to start the new year.
  • +1 for what Peter says......

This morning was fantabulous, and the combination of glorious sunshine, lovely scenery, loads of mud, some cracking costumes, and a bunch of happy runners make for a great event. This is then topped of by yummy hot soup, cheese and pickle rolls, and carrots at the finishimage

Massive thanks to Dr Rob, his family, and the great marshalls. Special mention goes to Wee Willy Winky at the top of the steps, and his kind words of encouragement

" get a move on... this is a running race, not a walking race....image "
  • Peter, you're welcome.

That was a lot of fun - I don't know about you guys, but I enjoyed it! Well done to all finishers... it was amazingly fast, given the conditions!

  • Fantabulous just about sums it up Young Pup image

The conditions were perfect Rob in every way.  The huge lake that crossed the path before the Smith and Western pub was so much fun.

Please pass on our thanks to the soup dragon.  It was delicious image
