Any views out there on how to prevent cramping in the quads in races on the bike and run. Use High5 isotonic and energy drinks and the gels and energy bars too.

Is it lack of salt, magnesium or something? Any views.

Really bad 5 miles into cycle on Sunday after the 90 min delay to the swim start, then started again later in the cycle.

    could try taking a hot bath in the morning to loosen the muscles up.

    i usually do this, and give them a bit of a rub down too. never had probs.

    also, you warm up first?

    also when on the bike you could try getting out of the saddle once in a while and stretching out the legs. could be your positioning on the bike. that and hydrate well beforehand, during

  • Indeed warm up well, eat bananas, drink properly. Will try the getting out the saddle lark though.
