Mandie - I'm waiting for the end of season sale before purchasing a Sunderland shirt. Mainly coz I don't want a name on the back of it as I might get Mick's name and age put on it.
Howdy all - how is everyone? Some good running I see
I am good thank you XL - It's not official yet so am not posting it where family can see, but I am going to be an Uncle again (not that I am comfortable with that term....)
Feeling ok thanks vixx, bit of a cough but chest is back to normal thankfully.
Was so cold walking to work in a hailstorm today that took me most of the morning to warm up ! Got so fed up of having cold wet feet that i went via 'clarks' on the way home and bought myself a pair of 'sensible' waterproof wool lined leather boots, i feel like a proper grown up !
I know what you mean, I have been resisting it and at the age of 50 I will keep resisting it - my kids (did I say kids 21,23) keep me sane by insisting that I buy other brands.
Hey guys! I just wanted to let you all know if you don't have a spot yet for the run The Children's Soceity has places available. It is a 35£ registration fee and a 350£ minimum sponsorship. We provide advice on training, (although there seems to be a lot of knowledgable people right here!) fundraising, cheering packs and personalized running vests!
Too much I've on ground to safely go out for the run tonight so it was 80mins on treadmill - Pointless followed by Eggheads and then on More I found 'A Home in the Sun Home and Away' which was all near my mates place near Fuengorola - still was boring
Running in snow is fine but nothing worse than slush or ice. Down here I'm still staying away from the teadmills and staying in the open air.
In other news...my misses was made redundant from Comet on the day I flew out of the UK on 20 Dec and i'm pleased to say she starts a new job on Monday. Wages are quite a lot less than she was on and it's not the type of job she wants but it's a job and after 4 weeks of no work she was desparate to get back to any kind of work. She's still applying for other jobs in the meantime.
I was on holiday yesterday so pulled all my running gear on to optimistically go out for a run. I think I took longer getting myself kitted out than I spent actually running ... after a couple of minutes it was clear trying to get a decent run was just not going to happen - the thick slush just made my feet fall away from under me and I couldn't get a grip at all.
I cut my losses, turned round, came home, got changed and painted my kitchen door instead . I'm desperate to go out running, but cannot face the treadmill (not that I'm a member of a gym anyway). I was hoping (given that the snow seemed to be melting away last night) that I'd be able to get out maybe tonight or tomorrow ... but woke up today to find it's flipping snowed again through the night, so pretty much back to square one .
Sheilsy, dont know if you've got a local healthworks handy.but the gym at mine is only ??1.50 and no joining fee.cheap as chips.dreadmill is still horrible though.
I see the race is expected to start at 3pm and will be finishing at the same place as last year (Let's hope it's not as wet). Plenty of tim eto get back to Newcastle for a drink or three in the Bridge and a curry afterwards perhaps.

Howdy, Vixx.
Good thank you, you?
Got notification of my place in the NT 10k for Easter Sunday, this weekend. Anyone else doing it this year ?

Unofficial congratulations, then.
Thank you XL
I must get my entry in for north tyneside 10k, in fact i'll get off my backside and go and write a cheque out now.
Do you know the date for this year's Clive Cookson, mr sj ?
Thanks for that. You recovered from your ice-blasting at the seaside ?
Thanks mr sj - are you feeling better today?

But i have lovely toasty warm feet
You know you're officially old once you start buying footwear from Clarks.
I'm not there yet.

There ain't nothing wrong with a comfy shoe!

Good evening to you all.
Hows the snow, all gone yet?
Not yet, Stringy, but its melting fast in Oxfordshire. But it still forced me to do an interval session on a dreadmill this morning .

Great News Stringy! Glad to hear some positive news!
Morning mr sj
Really good news Stringy and I am sure she will find a more appealing job soon
Good news about your wife's job, Stringy!

Count it as cross training!
Get Feb 4th in your diaries folks
Ohh, me lads (for MtM)
Good news about Mrs Stringy, there. Fingers crossed it's a stepping stone do something better soon.
Frustrating weather, isn't it, Shielsy ?

Stringy, how are you fixed for getting your entry in ?
Well done to Mrs Stringy, on her new job. That must be a relief, even if it isn't the perfect job.
Don't worry about the snow everyone - it will be gone by the weekend, when I get Yaktrax - never to appear again!!
