Mr Coco & I have recently fallen in love with homemade fruit smoothies but we only have a cr**** handheld blendy thingy. Can anyone suggest a good make of 'proper' blender that will do good smoothies?
ive got a kenwood - nothing fancy - but its got 2 speeds so you can whizz things to a mush or just slowly do it and pulse facility which is helpful if you dont want to whizz things to a mush - its also got a little mill attachment so i cna grind my nuts and seeds and make almond milk and suchlike - it was actually less than £20 at Argos
if i was buying the best id look for one with a glass jar - but they are about £50 upwards - the glass jar will keepthings cooler and not get as scratched and are easier to clean i think - but they dont seem to have mill attachments
dont both with those New York Smoothie maker things with a tap on the front - they are an expensive gimmick

Get one with a big jug (leave it!).
'cept for when I take it out of the gloop before it's finished being glooped.
Then it's time to redecorate...

Gavo: the jugs are no problem here!
use a traditional one for bananas and strawberries
for more juicy fruits a new one that i don't remember the name, also makes juice out of ginger, strong but delicious
Bamix.
It's no good, I can't resist:
I prefer using jugs to a hand held one, it's less likely to squirt all over the kitchen ;-)
Damn - ruddy Sid James psychic channeling through my body makes me do these double entendres.
