Gebreselassie's Every One half marathon (Ethiopia)

Anyone done this race and have any feedback? I think it may only have been run once or twice, but it's taking place again next May and I've been sent details. Or if not this particular race, does anyone have any experience of racing at altitude (in this case 1700m)? I suspect it's one to run for the experience rather than a time, but is that kind of altitude likely to be an issue?
