I've been back running around 7 weeks now but spent 3 of those ill or injured so progress hasn't been great. Oh I'm fat and slow also
My first target was a sub 40 min 5k. Ran my first 5k on the 16th Sept at 46:35, 2nd on the 26th at 43:13 tonight 39:51. Needless to say I'm delighted. I'm even more amazed as this was on tired legs after already going out this morning. Picking up the pace seemed to be the secret for me. Usually try to go slow and steady, tonight I was 2m a mile quicker on pace but with more frequent and shorter walking breaks. I'm guessing moving forward I should mix these approaches.
