Turbo Trainers

Can anyone recommend a good (budget!) turbo trainer?!

Just want to keep my fitness up at home whilst my hubby is away and I'm stuck at home with the kids....

Try Decathlon they have a few in. I have a Minoura which I paid about 180 for, worth it. Make sure you get one that offers sufficient resistance, a friend has one from Halfords which offers doesn't and is pretty useless.  Check out the sufferfest downloads for a good training session.

I've got the Tacx Sirius.  Rock solid, and I've been told it's fairly quiet for a turbo trainer, not that I've ever compared it against anything.

    +1 for Tacx Sirius.

I have the same one and just about everybody I know (who has a turbo) has one. Never heard any complaints.

  • Cycle-ops are also worth a look.

Be warned though- turbo training is incredibly dull. Without getting into a rollers vs turbo trainer debate- rollers certainly keep the boredom at bay! And do wonders for your cadence, core strength and balance too. And are very quite, until the inevitable first fall...
