Joined others in complaining about distance from car park to registration/start in this race . Also realised that the "goody" bundle of energy stuff handed out after race is nearly 2 years past its sell by date. I know some of these dates are nearly irrelevent but the stuff tasted disgusting.. Is it legal to hand such stuff out?

Depends. It's illegally to sell ie. take payment for but not illegall to hand out free. If your paying for the goody bag as part of your entry fee then yes they are breaking the law.
