thanks! a fair few of those unlucky enough to be lapped did say some nice things, but unfortunately was breathing too hard to have anything to say back!
I heard a chap from Sprint's club say they would win the league if they fielded their top team.
Not sure he's aware how strong Reading's A team would be if they ever turned up! And they'd do well to beat Datchet and Sandhurst too.
Ha, don't know who that was from BFR - We've got so little depth it's untrue!
middle aged guy...i couldn't help being one of those annoying chaps who comments on others conversations...but he invited it with his crazy comment.
Funny how the front guys change over the years though...when I look back to the front runners as recently as 06-09 it's quite marked how few of them are still involved.
Natural change of the guard with moves away and changing priorities I guess.
Did everyone have a good run today? I managed to run a few seconds quicker than last year, but placed much higher so I was pleased, as it was alot tougher than last year. I also noticed i was mainly running with men, so maybe not so many ladies there today. Looking forward to the next race at Tadley!
3rd, and only 1-2secs off Graham in 2nd, he had to sprint to beat me
Was 6th after the 3rd water jump, I just seem to have developed a great knack of pushing on up that last ploughed field hill just when everyone else seems to flake.
Took 3 people there, sucked Graham in, and for 2mins entertained the idea of could I be rude enough to beat the legendary man
Didn't think I'd catch the SJ in front of me, but I kicked and I don't think he'd heard me behind him.68th and 39omething. Extremely happy with that result!
2012 I had a bad week and a negative attitude throughout the race, so came in 43:51 and 108th. 2011 was my first Tadley in 43:52 and 145th.
Good effort Sprint. You just need to maintain that top 20 next week and you're done!
you're experiencing some cracking year on year improvements Iron. Long may that continue, especially when running is just a third of your interests trainingg wise
Hi all, I had quite a good run today, finished 3 minutes quicker than last year so really pleased . Well done on your 3rd place Stevie G and well done to everyone else who ran!
Personally a late Feb race is impossible, as I'd already done 2 road races, so to go back to xc didn't make sense.
Only did 3 of the 7 this time round, but a delight as always to do Tadley and Sandhurst, and found a gem in the Metros race, one I'd always been put off by before.
Thanks to Bracknell for putting on a good race! It was my first time running this course and I really enjoyed it, and the tea and cakes afterwards were great Will look forward to the start of the 2013/2014 season.
Missed this as away on a stag do. Shame, as I ran it in the 2010/2011 season for the first time and missed it last year. This year's season has really worked for me.

I've heard he loves to talk his way round too
So - Enjoy Reading?

I missed reading last year. First Coaster home, and 3:27 faster than 2010. Very soggy and the spikes paid off again!
It's nice to have new clubs and race against new faces, regardless of the pack posistion.
how was everyone's race today folks
that was my last one of the series, so delighted with how it went.
Not bad for the first ever race without a garmin.. (my fault)
19th, top 20 all season and had a couple of RRRs upto the line so all good
How did you go SG - Didn't ask?
went fantastically mate!

He had too much tho.
Awesome work buddy, kudos to you.
ta bud. you've had a solid series, maybe not as enjoyable as you'd have liked tho like you said to me today.
Hoping to replicate things on the road, 10k and half up in 3 and 4 weeks respectively, so that's me done this series!
Bracknell is ok, but not too much of a fan of 2 lappers!

It was good to finally meet SG at last.

And we are done - Bracknell thanks all that turned up!
was it the normal small numbers for the end race?

Hopefully Finch is back on the agenda next year
Metros XC
The final stretch. Finish down there on the left.
🙂

See you all next year!
Small numbers yesterday, 244 as opposed to 329 last year.
Glad you enjoyed it folks.
