Great Birmingham Run

I've been put in the 'Pink' wave for this because when I entered it was without much training after a while off running and I wasn't sure what I'd do.

My training has gone well, and I'm back to where I think I should do a 2h05m.  People who entered at the same time and put down 2h15m estimated times have been put in the green wave.

I'm not worried about running with them, but I don't want to have to get past strings of 4 or 5 women all holding hands which is bound to happen in the slow group?

Anyone know the chances of being allowed to move up a pen?  Would they need training records etc?  (By being allowed I mean by BUPA, I don't want the hassle of trying to have to sneak into a different group).

  • I think it's probably too late to change your wave placing now. I put 1:50 on my form and I am in the orange group! However I'm moving down to white to be with a friend so if someone were to sneak into orange it may sort of cancel out ???

  • just line up in the wave in front, its really not strictly enforced,

  • Did this last year and didn't meet up with the wave in front for quite a while.  Get to the front of your wave if you can't move up one.

  • Well that was easy - Walk to the information desk... I think I'm in the wrong wave... tell them expected time.... get new race number.
