Scott - I'm speechless! Congratulations. I've no idea how you managed that given everything you've been through this year but it's incredibly impressive.
If anyone was wondering what the metal-work looked like. The Thames Trot is my local Ultra and I needed a goal when I was recovering and a simple marathon wouldn't do.I think I have the bug now but I need to go slowly. I seem to pick up injuries really easy so it is all a balancing act between training hard enough and too much pain. Having said that the neck doesn't really hurt, it is the classic knee pain for me.
Thanks guys. I only really started this as it seemed one of the hardest things to do. When I was unable to walk I read all the books about ultra running. I have a massive amount of respect for anyone who has ever done any form of ultra. The more I discover about this sport the more I realise it is a mental thing and the final strength comes from your head.
First run after the event today, a steady lunchtime 5-miler. I'm fairly certain I cracked a rib or maybe my sternum when I got car-doored on the way into Goring, it's still a bit sore when I do much with my chest.

Thanks for the radiograph - nice C5-6 repair there! Obviously TT50 -did- make a good goal. Continue with ultras or not, as seems right for you.
Awesome job Scott, much respect!!
Seriously impressive Scott. Respect is due.

Scott! Massive respect to that, not only overcoming the crazy injuries but a massive performance in the race. I salute thee.
