aah tiger, 48 minutes is never going to happen for me at this one, I havent run for 2 weeks because of flu and its put me right back, I am going to be such a plodder at the moment when I start running again
I will get to that point at some time in my running life but to be honest surviving 10k in less than an hour is going to be my first aim for this race!
Not sure if I can make it now due to frustrating injury that hasn't got better -haven't run since Brighton so quite p!ssed off now. Will post message once sure in case any takers out there?
I'm afraid I'm going to have to miss it. Still getting a twinge. Worried about how much the Xmas excesses are going to put me back though(& the extra weight I will gain). So will let someone else have my mince pie)!
I spent all year telling people about my PB 10k time gained at this race last year, only to have my dreams shattered yesterday by a fellow runner telling me it was short!
it used to be short, because of the roadworks down part of the course, nowthe course has changed back to the original course which is ok distance wise I think!
Why does this one seem harder than any other 10k I've done? Having said that, can't complain too much since I did beat my best time for the course by a couple of minutes even but nowhere near my PB.
Good to see Womble, Snoop & Tiger. Y'all have a good Christmas now.
What with a strong cold wind, having been out late the night before plus having to cycle 6 miles to the race as the better half wanted the car, I felt sure I'd flop in this one...instead set a new PB by over a minute...
I had doubts over the distance but another racer with a GPS Timex Bodylink thingy made it 10.01 KM so I guess it must be okay. Did anyone else think it was a fast (or short?) course.
This was my first race after joining the local running club, and I think the combination of the discipline of good quality regular weekly runs (better than I would do on my own anyhow) plus running the race with a fellow club runner has paid dividends...still can't belief such a big reduction in my PB...

Must be a sure thing though that someone calling herself Womble might hale from the Wimbledon area.
