Can anyone help me - my Garmin Forerunner 305 refuses to respond, even though I know it has power. Is there a way to reset it?
Don't know what the RTFM method is but it has happened a few times with my Garmin a basic Forerunner 110. All I do is hold down the 'light' button and it re-sets itself. Got this advice from the Garmin Connect site FAQs. Hope it's as straight forward for a 305 can't see why it shouldn't be. Good luck Melon51
(This may help)
My forerunner 110 appeared to have died a couple of times. Then just leaving it alone, it woke up.
(And if I was after a personal trainer, I'd want one that can manage basic operations of standard fitness gear )
How did you charge it? I ask because I once fried a Forerunner 310 (and a TV tuner stick) by charging it via a powered USB hub. Reset didn't work and Garmin ended up replacing it. Did you charge it in the same way you usually do?
The garmin site is quite helpful.
Shmunks - LOL...
I had the same happen with me, phoned up garmin and they said to send it in for repair at a cost of about £50.
They then told me they don't make 305's anymore so would i accept a new 310 instead. That was about 2 months ago and the 310 is great..
Wow thanks for all the answers (even the sarcastic ones)
I found the answer on the Garmin website:
A. If the Forerunner device has locked up during charging, it may need to be reset to power back on. To do this, please hold down the "Mode" and "Reset" buttons at the same time and then press the "Power" button to turn the Forerunner on.
Once the three buttons are released, the Forerunner should power on correctly.
Updating the unit's operating software is also recommended. Please download the WebUpdater software update tool to complete the software update.
If this key sequence or the software update do not resolve the lockup please call or email Garmin technical support for further assistance. Please click here for contact information.
Thanks for your update on the Garmin problem. I must check to see if I need to update the software as my forerunner locks up more frequently.
My Forerunner 110 has just died as well! Its 10 months old and so far nothing seems to help in any way!Can the battery be replaced?
Stumbled across this page whilst looking at reviews for a new GPS watch as mine had died!
Pressed the three buttons, as described, and Forerunner is no longer dead.
Thanks for saving me £120+.
Forerunner has now been renamed Lazarus.
