Anyone training for something other than an organised event?

I'm currently training to run the width of the UK (circa 170 miles in 6 days) and have never run a marathon before. No medal, no certificate and no foil blanket at the end, just kudos and hopefully raise some money for charity. I'd be interested to hear what others are training for, be it personal goals or otherwise.
