A day of firsts: jogging (not running again) and trying out a forum on the net. Never have chatted with virtual friends before so think that the experience will be interesting. Am 49, pushing that next b-day, was a jogger when younger, right up to the day I married 8 yrs ago. Have painfully completed Paris and London since then with little training (stubborn and have strong legs) but would like to really establish a routine and actually RUN a full marathon for a real time and PB. Looking toward next Spring for London or Paris. Any motivating messages will be great; any partners in the Rickmansworth/Northwood area would also be great. I am slow (10-10:30 right now per mile; best was 8:20 but that was a few years back and I am NOT trying to recreate youth -- never trained then either). Workaholic so morning early, eve late and weekends. Work in City so could meet a partner there (Just off London Wall...)
So hi out there... anyone listening/reading?

Read some threads friend - eg 'Come out to play' then tell me we aren't weird.
10-10.30 is quite a respectable pace in my book and if you've only just returned to running I'd say it was pretty good. Start slow, build up steadily and a Spring marathon will be a 26.2 mile stroll in the park - well maybe not!
And fear not, you'll get stacks of support and motivation if you hang around here.
Happy running.
