tricky footwear decision at a frosty xc race this morning - went for spikes but regretted it. do forumites think trail shoes are best way to go in these conditions, and what about in snow?

Baldbloke, I also ran a frosty xc race this morning, and we had been warned beforehand not to wear spikes. I wore trail shoes and they were fine. I don't know about snow, but would think trails shoes would have more grip.
