Best trainers for icy conditions

Hi Guys

finding my Asics (Cumulus 13's) are not great with any ice around - a guy from my running club recommended all terrain trainers, but cant seem to see many about - any tips or advice?

Cheers

Dave

  • i wear trail shoes and go off road where its not so icy

  • I don't know if they are still available, but years ago when I lived in the UK the best off road trainers for most conditions were Walsh fell running shoes. They seemed to grip well on ice/wet rocks etc.

  • I just run in a fairly cheap pair of trail shoes in icy weather (Adidas Kanadia)
  • You need Nike Polars, the soles are coated with polar bear hair. Unfortunately they are now only available in Greenland, as the Reykjavik Nike store has sold out.
  • Very good Tomimage

Just going to try a pair of Karrimor trail trainers - only £25 at Sports Direct, so even if they are not very good they will be OK for walking dogs in.

  • Vivobarefoot Breathos if you run minimalistic.
