Hi all, first post on here. I have been running for years now, I don't think I am an expert but I just enjoy running. I have taken part in mainly 5k's and 10k's. 6 months ago I signed up for the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon. Which as you know is on the 3rd of march. I spent 6 months in Afghanistan and have trained really hard for it. I have been a bit lapse since getting back, but that is due to holiday and wedding. Now I feel fit and ready for the half. Yesterday I got the phone call I have been dreaming about for 6 years now. A charity has accepted my application for the London marathon next year. My question is can I be ready to run the VLM in April if I increase my training now? Thanks Ricey

Yes, easy. Don't just "increase your mileage" though, get a proper plan, follow it.
Let us know what you find.
What he said, especially Hal Higdon. Find one that matches your current ability with the start of the plan, don't worry if the last month looks like scaling Everest, thats the point of training, to get you to the heights.
