Good luck all. Not had much luckk with my hip recovery but I can just about run on it so will line-up and give it 100% and if it goes then I'll call it a training run
Well, over in TT50 country, we're being diverted away from the river mostly onto "country lanes and public roads", because "large sections of the Thames have become flooded and totally impassable."
At least that degree of flooding is unlikely on your route... Enjoy!
Yes I didnt like the look of tha section next to the golf course back in Dec, must be worse now. I ran on the inside of the hedges (beside the golf course). But I'm sure this wont be allowed without permission! At least near beginning/end so we can be shepperded around on day1.
I waded through that bit next to the golf course a few weeks ago. No way am I doing that again. Golfers or not, they will have to suck it up, I am going for the detour
I had to pull out at first aid station. Hip/back issue spread to hamstring and then bang, full-on cramp in camp that reduced me to a limp at 5miles. Tried to run through it to the 8M mark but it wasn't good. But hey, gave it a shot and was running ok.
Great spirit out there, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves in the mud. Although I didnt get to see the 33mile faces!
Really sorry bout that Daz. Congratulations for giving it your best shot. The 33 mile faces were a bit - I found I had mud in my earphones even though I hadn't fallen over (surprisingly enough)!
hopetofinish - lovely to meet up with you again. Hope you got home ok and there was some pizza left.
Hope to see some familiar faces at the next event .

The pond is still in place alongside the golf course I'm guessing you'll be taking a detour...
Other than that the first few miles are pretty dry

Thank goodness that my thigh high Sealskinz arrived in time .
Haha. I'm just going to run straight through the first water/mud I see. We're all going to get wet feet so may as well get stuck in from the off.
