Pain in the back of the heal / stiff painful foot in the morning.

I have run regularly but did a park run on new years day. The next day I had severe foot pain. This has remained though not as severe and there is a pain at the back of my heel. Due to work commitments I have to wait a week before I see a doctor. I have taken Ibupfrofen on a couple of occasions which have helped the pain but do not to be reliant on this so trying to cope without.
I have been waking up in the night with a painful foot and it is also painful and a lot stiffer for around 1 and 1/2 hours when I wake up in the morning. I am feeling a bit despondant now as due to do a half marathon in 3 weeks which looks like I will have to pull out of as am having pain walking.

Look up "Plantar fasciitis". Sympathies. There are lots of suggested treatments around.
sounds like3 it could be the achillies tendon to me....have a look at that and see if it goes with your pain......
