Hi there,
My wife is a primary school teacher wants a cheap pulse-rate watch to use in class, doesn't want one with a chest strap. Ideally under a tenner, hrm doesn't have to be spot on but an accuracy within 5% would be nice.
Seems to be a few out othere on ebay, Amazon etc. but all with mixed reviews - can anyone recommend one?

Don't know the specifics of what you are looking for, however I just get the kids in my classes to take their pulse for 30s and then double it. I'm sure it falls within 5% accuracy. It's a bit of a faff sometimes as if you try to do everyone at once (quiet classroom makes it easy to count), some will miss it. However, it's much easier to manage than 30 kids all taking turns with one bit of kit.
Is teaching that stressful ??
here's one: Amazon: Wrist Blood Pressure Digital Monitor Heart Beat Meter
Try a Soleus. One got positive reviews on either dcrainmaker or irunfar (I don't remember which) eg http://www.bhipltd.co.uk/heartratemonitor/soleus-flash-heart-rate-monitor-black-yellow.html Oh - this has a chest strap - but I'll leave the link anyway in case someone else has 50 quid.
