So, I've knackered my calf up badly enough so that i can't run on it and haven't been able to do so for 2 weeks now . I've booked in with a physio to try and sort it out but in the meantime is it worth doing more of my other two training activities (which aren't affected by my calf) or should i just stick to the plan and miss out the running bit til I'm healed?
Weird thoughts going round my head about over-training vs missing out on an opportunity to improve my cycling.....thanks all.

as long as the other 2 activities are not impinging on the calf recovery, then sub any running plans with the others.
Hi JD, I've been plagued with recurring achilles injuries for the past two years, mostly because I've done nothing about them till now. I'm seeing a great physio and just starting back to running, surprised that my running fitness has not deteriorated. I substituted every run session with aqua running. Even now, as I ease back into running I plan to substitute at least one run session per week with aqua running. You can buy an aqua running belt most places but this is the one I use.

There's a lot of evidence to support aqua jogging as a way of maintaining running fitness through injury. And it's an exercise in mental stamina given how mind numbingly boring it is.
thanks LB. next stop YouTube to see how to do it .
I've always used aqua jogging to maintain fitness during injury recovery, it's certainly worked for me.
