I have been running since college but had not experienced serious injury. That is until recently. We were on marathon when someone stepped on my ankle, which made me fall hard, face down. The next thing I felt was the unbearable pain in my ankle (I wasn't even aware that I was taken to the hospital). After a quick examination, the doctor found out I twisted my ankle bad and suggested to get podiatry therapy. After a month, the occasional throbbing had somehow subsided and I can see development on my walk but still can't walk that far, let alone prepare for another run.

Where does the volleyball fit in?
Did you see anyone after the initial examination by the doctor? What did they say?
