Hi I can only run with a rest day inbetween each. Even if its a shorter 2 miler. My longest run currently is 6 miles. Have been running for years but always get set back with some niggle or other. One of my lessons learnt is I can't seem to run a day after a run. My question is can you train for a half marathon based on my resting after a days run rule? Thank you

Yes, its been done plenty of times.
One long run and a couple of speed sessions will do.
🙂
I really really hope so..... I'm in the same boat with niggly little injuries and other issues meaning I need two days off between some runs some weeks..... I am up to 10 miles though at least. HM Is in three weeks!
Rob, if you can do 10 miles now then you'll easily find the other 3.1 on race day as long as you pace yourself OK.
I ran a marathon on 3 runs and 2 spin classes a week so yes you can definitely do it! I prefer to run on alternate days with cross training in between as then you don't over use joints and muscles by the same exercise repeatedly and also it mixes things up a bit so you don't get bored!
4 miles at slightly under 5k pace.
10miles at 60secs slower than half pace with 3miles in the middle at half marathon pace.
13-20 miles at 60-90secs slower than marathon pace.
If you're constantly getting injured, you may be doing too many runs too fast.
