NEED HELP WITH A STUDENT RUNNER

I am a new coach with a year of experience coaching high school long distance. I have a freshman girl who is bow legged and pigeon toed. Does she need special shoes or shoe inserts to compensate for her condition? I know to run properly you need to have the feet pointing straight. Is there an adjustment that someone pigeon toed needs to make when they run?  I haven't dealt with this situation so I am asking for your opinion.

Thank You

  • I think you'd be best getting a proper biomechanical assesment done for her. I'm slightly surprised that, as a coach, this didn't occur to you..

But anyway, Google it - you'll find someone in your area.
