B2B: assuming by "back of my knee" you mean the tendons, try some self-massage of the hamstring muscles AND the quads (since they pull against each other; it's useful to treat muscles in pairs). If the self-massage doesn't work, I'd go see someone for a proper sports massage. I've been self-treating for a similar problem and it seems to be working but I am considering seeing if I can get a proper session done before SDW50.
Hey guys and girls, had a deep tissue massage on friday...man that was an experience!
She spent nearly and hour on the one leg! The muscles feel pretty good now but the back of my knee still feels a little weak. Going to head out for a very careful 5 mile tonight and test the water.
LLB - I dont really feel that way this morning, my hamstring is really tight again which is pulling the back of my knee oh well lots and lots of stretching for me and hopefully all will be good again soon. I went for a really slow run/walk last night for 5 miles and it felt ok until about 4 then started to tighten a little.
B2B: you can massage the hamsring muscle yourself as well - I find baby oil on my hands works for that - do the hamstrings AND the quads. I also use The Stick, but before I got that I used a rolling pin!
I'll just have time to recover from SDW and start tapering towards this...
What with lost training time and resultant lost speed due to my ankle injury I'm expecting to be somewhat slower than last year, which is frustrating. Oh well.
At least we should have a chance of better weather than we had for SDW50!
yeah my BIL did the SDW50 he said it rained all day and the fog was pretty intense! Finished though!
I think given the weather and my leg injury I will be very happy to pass 30 and anything else will be a bonus! I know I havnt trained enough but this one is a free one after volunteering last year so I shall make the most of it and try my best.
Im looking into a waterproof jacket at the moment, something like OMM or Montaine...any suggestions?
I use a montane minimus and its great. Check out the Salomon Bonnatti as that looks really really good! Couple of guys using it over the weekend at SDW50, including one who tested it very thoroughly until well into the night!

i havnt got anything to say-just boinging this back to the top
I don't believe that.
wow well that was some weekend!
Brother in law was trying to take on the TP100, had to drop at around 63 with borderline hypothermia.
On the up side he is absolutely fine as he caught it quickly and jumped into an aid car.
I didn't get to run but it gave me back my fire!
Time to get serious...
B2B, running out of time now.....
True story! The back of my knee is a little grumpy do you guys think I should get a massage done or is it something I can fix myself?
I think Debra mentioned something about a knee injury recently, not sure if she has any tips

How's the training Looby?
Montane Minimus worked for me on Saturday! Thankfully I didn't get to test it for quite as long as the guy that WiB is talking about!
And then I managed to leave it behind at the finish. Thankfully Centurion are posting it back to me...
