Based on this thread and some stuff I read on FB I have entered next years race - It will be my first marathon in 16 years and I wanted to take a year to prepare for it mentally and physically - It is the first marathon I am intending to do with no time pressures just wanting to get round and enjoying it.
I will now enter this race for next year. Unfortunately my mum who came to support me this year passed away suddenly on 5th June. It was the day before her 59th birthday. It came as a total shock to us. I intend to run this next year in her memory & will support a charity once the cause of death is known.
still got that heavy leg feeling and am running at a slower pace than usual. I'm not sure if it's tiredness, grief or a mixture of the two.
Keep on running. Hope to see some of you here next year.
I ran this year in memory of my Mum, who I lost suddenly 6 years ago.
I was raising money for a Charity called Cruse Bereavement Care who provide free counselling for people who have lost loved ones.
You're probably swept up in a whirlwind of different emotions, as well as all the "stuff" that needs to be sorted out, but once things have settled down and you get time to think, have a look at their website - it's very helpful.

Amanda - I saw your fundraising total and was completely blown away. Well done!
Thanks Emmy, Me too. It's such a good charity that sadly not many people hear about until they need it!
