Went out drinking with a Frenchman one night and agreed that trying the 'Diagonale des Fous' on Reunion Island would be a good idea.
See here for how it went...done a few since (Swiss Alpine K78, UTSW100, and will do the TDS this year) but the Grand Raid was my first. Nothing like jumping in at the deep end.
