Teach First 10k

Hi all,

Did anyone run the Teach First 10k in central London back in September of last year (2012). and if so were you wearing a GPS watch?

Reason I ask is I ran a PB by a significant margin off the back of little training and having worked very hard subsequently have not been able to better it. This leads me to suspect one of two things

1) the race distance was short, or

2) I'm not training properly.

If anyone knows i'd be interested to hear.

Cheers

  • Hi Johnny,

Thanks for your post. I work in the Teach First events team.

We had a couple of queries regarding the 10k run distance last year, so to be sure, the event was measured and the route marked by a specialist running events company, who assured us that it was accurate.

The route is going to be slightly different this year so perhaps we could tempt you back to try to beat that PB again?

We will be starting at Potters Fields next to Tower Bridge and avoiding any steps to make it even more accessible. We will be getting the new route professionally measured ahead of the run to ensure it’s exactly 10km so you can be absolutely certain of any timing.

Please feel free to call us in the events team on 0203 117 2309 or email events@teachfirst.org.uk if you have any questions.

I hope to see you again in September!
