What is the start like at London marathon? Can you get a clear run fom the outset?
I've got the option of a GFA place at London next year after running 3:04 at Manchester marathon in April. I'd really like to go for sub 3 in that race but I'm worried that I might get slowed down/ blocked at the start and not get the time.
To get sub 3 I'll need to run something like 1:28/ 1:32 as thats how my best marathon times have come, from slightly positve splits. I don't want to be in the position of needing a negative or even split.
Sorry for the ramble, but any advice would be appreciated.
