I was more curious how you went about getting there, where you stayed how long for etc. Just don't know whether it would be easier and cheaper to jump on the train or drive over etc. Need somewhere cheap to stay too etc. Just would like to get some info before I decide
Depends where you start from. As I live in Newcastle, the only practical option was to fly to CDG.
There are lots of hotels of all sorts of prices within a short walk of the finish at the Eiffel Tower. I stayed at a camanile and it was fine and had lots of other runners in it.
Actually my main memory of 2012, apart from my achilles was how hot and dry it was !
I did the 80km 2012 which leg are you doing, I travelled on thurs evening back monday night are you doing 2014 i will try and answer any questions you may have ,i also did have a forum page
I did it last year, Eurotunnel over the day before, rented an apartment and left the day after. All pretty cheap as I remembered, just the food and the booze that put a dent in the bank account.

I think there are a few people on the Paris marathon thread who've done this - if you ask again in there you might get some info.
I did this last year, or at least half of it, as i broke down with an achilles injury.
Ask away and I'll answer anything that I can.
We can try to help too as I supported my wife running it....
it was wet last year, that's my abiding memory!
Very kind of you guys.

Camper van... Lol! Camping is an option as there is a city camp site. Train and guesthouse would work I'm sure.
