  • Mrs Matt.Ironwolf lives on the continent.........

macclesfield is in the north west of england.towards manchester as far as i can remember,,,,image

  • North west. Its half was down the country.

  • LJS and I live in southern Germany, about 60km from the venue for IMDE in Frankfurt.

  • oh yes that will be a bit of a trip!!!! image Although if you have any reason to be in England around that time it would be worth it for the pirate gathering and faces on the locals.

    You may even see Spider-Man???

  • whats the deal with sleeping arrangements?

i am fairly local, but if there is a nightout on the cards then i wouldnt mind crashing somewhere - or are there any luxury hotels befiting of my standard?

  • In previous years the SA's have opened up there garden and stuff for people to crash camping they might do the same next year but I would wait to hear from them themselves. Jo's got a big race coming up so they are probably very buzy getting ready to rock so don't be worried if you don't get a anwser on that for a few weeks.

  • well if thats the case i have a four man tent which will have a spare pod in it, if i manage to secure a piece of turf

  • There are 2 premier inns in Macclesfield and 1 travelodge, there are a couple of of luxury hotels in Prestbury which is 3 miles from us.

This year we managed to get a four person tent in the back garden along with a 1 man tent plus 2 people sleeping in the downstairs rooms

A few people stayed at the premier inn 1 mile away from us and on both the Friday and Saturday nights we ended up all having a meal together in the pub

I have been trying to forget about that, thought i was hallucinating at the time

  • I seem to recall that Spiderman was real enough but that you did hallucinate the Peppa Pig. image

  • Hmmmm - if I can find a reason to come over around then I would love to join in.

  • i shall wait for the marathon rejection letter and then look at a hotel in wonderful maccesfield

I seem to remember at least one other person seeing Peppa Pig

  • I seem to remember there was also a campsite not a million miles away either.

I think the camp site is for caravans, don't know about tents, those that had tents pitched them in the back garden

I can certify that both SA and I saw both Peppa Pig AND Spiderman in the flesh, casually hanging out at Tescos. Must have been a slow day for crime fighting and the weans were at nursery, so why not get caught up on the shopping?

Re: accommodation, the Premier Inn was cheap and highly recommended. Great location and cheap as chips. Only downside were the loud shaggers next door, so take your earplugs.

    21st April ?

Id likie to prove myself more than a forum nusance. Im in. Honest. even if I have to drive around it in an ambulance.

  • I would really like to be there too, if I can sort out the finances and logistics, and wangle the leave time from work. It takes roughly 6 hours from our house to the Channel Tunnel, how long would it take to drive from Dover to Macclesfield?

  • a long time as you have to drive all the way around the M25......does depend on time of day/ night

sgt lard.i think its the 12th

  • So it would be better to drive it at night then, Seren?

  • around the M25 has always been a bit of a nightmare especially anywhere near the peak traffic times

  • It's about 4 hours from mine to Dover, and another hour or two to Macclesfield, so it will be a long drive for you Ironwolf.

And avoid the M6 and M25 at rush hour.  Either go during the day or after about 7pm

  • Sounds like it's not practical then.

  • Zakalwe-Outlaw also in (Job depending), stupid computer is stuck on the wife's profile!  Good prep for Lanza.
