Ankle ache - caused by my toes blistering

Hi,

Despite my best efforts i have a nasty bout of athletes foot in between my small toes in my left foot. It's got noticeably worse recently. The athlete's foot itself is tolerable but as the skin blistering and discomfort has intensified i have also experienced an ache on the inside of the ankle on the same foot.  There is no pain and no bruising or swelling in the ankle.

Could pain in the small toe region cause the ache in my ankle?

possibly. your Flexor Digitorum longus tendon splits and attaches to all your toes apart from the big toe, and runs on the inside of the ankle. It may be referred pain.
