Which runners for multidays desert event

I welcome any advice for runners to get for a multidays desert run which will also have rocky parts.
I am inbetween runners for my usual road running and while I heard that road shoes can be just as good , I don't have a pair that really suits me for a good few years now .

I have gaiters but will just glue them on until I am definitely happy with the shoes and then I will get them stitched on
