  • Race pack arrived today. Oh no, my Race number is emblazoned with Half Marathon. I've been told it is all fine, they will know I paid to upgrade to the full.

Bring on the axiety dreams. I picture myself being rugby tackled like Kathrine Switzer, and being dragged off the course screaming "but I paid .."   image

  • entries are closed now but if anyone wants a half marathon entry mine is available

  • Dean - was just going to ask if you were still planning to do it off a long run of 6 miles!

  • lit -image i think i have the kick finish into the racevillage sorted its the first 12 miles i have neglected this summer.   if i get no takers for my entry i will still turn up and treat as a 10k that i have to hang on for another 7 miles. could be messy.  its a shame as i entered with the view of this being a shot at a PB but have been otherwise occupied.

  • If you do turn up you can do it super-slow and pace me to a new PB if you like.

  • Hoping my race pack is waiting for me at home.  I last did this full marathon in 2005 and conked out round HPP.  Not this time ... NOT THIS TIME!

  • Dean how much do you want for your half marathon entry? will the organisers do a transfer?

  • Jac- only after whatever I paid for, £27 Inc postage for the number.  The webpage says no transfers but there is a helpdesk on the day & More often than not if you tell them they change the details.

  • Got my number today and a distinct lack of info!

  • No joy with EOD.... So if anyone has a bib for the full, I'd happily reimburse to save it going to waste!

  • Sorry to hear that Slinkz. Keep emailing them; there will be plenty of no-shows as per.

  • I'll keep pestering, thanks for the heads up and hopefully see you enroute

  • Slinkz - might be worth asking the organisers if they will allow a half to upgrade to a full.  If so you can have my half and upgrade.

  • Face book posts by the organisers have been blanking any transfer requests - it has just been  firm NO. May need to up the game with persistence and a sob story.

I'm crook - having a typically miserable taper.

  • agreed, but if you turn up on the day with a number at the helpdesk organisors will often make the transfer despite claiming they wont.

  • Thanks - I'll keep persistence, surely its better than having a number/bib go to waste?

I'm happy to cover entry fee and any admin charges etc needed.... we shall see, good luck with the last taper week all those 100% in!

  • So some people have got their name on their number and I haven't... is it a special thing only for actual fast runners, or do the organisers hate me?

  • It is just like VLM, only the elites have that privilege image Actually scrap that idea as I have my name and a tiny number

  • Huh. You lot can just go and be all fast at the front then. See if I care. image

  • Anybody travelling from Birmingham to this? I am trying to find a way to get there sunday morning, there are no trains or buses to arrive in Nottingham in time.

  • Anyone got a full marathon entry that they can no longer use, sadly injured or just can't make it now? Happy to take it, full reimbursement of entry fee of course.

  • Ditto, I could do with an entry if anyone knows anyone....

  • Do the pacemakers get a number too??

  • I've just been for a lovely run along the Trent embankment from Attenborough nature reserve to Wilford. Roll on next Sunday for the half marathon, and good luck to all of you.

  • Phew! Finally feeling a little better. Got 10 miles done today. Went quicker than intended so it was pretty much @MP and it was hot so a decent tester. Hope to be 100% next weekend. Taper well folks!

  • Got my final long run in before next week, Birmingham Canal Canter marathon yesterday..feel trashed now! Urgent taper week required and lots of rice puddingimage

Glad you are feeling better Egyptian Toe.

Does anyone have sat nav postcodes for main car parks by any chance?

  • Hang on brer - you did a marathon to prepare for a marathon? No wonder you've done so bloody many.

ET - I bet the people above desperate for a marathon number are willing you not to get better. image

  • good luck to all; my last long run today for the half and staggered around 12 miles in about 16 hours... or at least that's how it felt!

a few runs in the week and a full day off on saturday...

not ready by a long shot but i will be there and doing my best from the jogger's blue zone!
