My sox are totally flabby currently due to OH's sudden import to hospital a few days ago which has thrown everything into complete disarray and disrupted all training....
However he is now out so will dig up the sock - 100 mile charity bike ride in 3 weeks and my longest one to date is just under 40 so it's going to hurt but once that's out of the way I'm going to work at giving my sock targets a good stuffing
Bike stuffing (with a little OW thrown in) is all for the next few weeks Melds till I get this ride out of the way....
......the other people assume I'm fit and fast on the bike, however after the last year of sloth I'm anything but (and actually wasn't anyway in the 1st place!)
Socks are pretty good this week, so far 2 swims, 1 brick, 1 bike, 2 runs. Must step on the scales to see whether socks whilst stuffed are any lighter, haven't touched an ice cream for nearly 2 weeks. Big challenge this weekend is 3.8K sea swim, got to get over my fear of it as my IM is fast approaching. This is the time to follow others good examples and keep the sock drawer in order.
I have taken to actually bribing myself to do this afternoon's swim session. I've treated myself to a lovely bath oil for when I get home. I'm going to finish this 'ere cup of tea and then go and get my sock wet!
Sock on a little sideways after a sky dive today. Bloody good fun. 29'miles on the bike afterwards, and in other news I consumed a Magnum whilst cycling, pretty pleased with that.
I think we're all doing awfully well. Pat on the back and a glass of something nice all round!
On previous Ironman journeys I've been pretty good at early sessions. For some reason I'm finding them much harder to get in to at the moment. I'm hoping that I'm just out of practice. Dog only knows how I will manage when proper training starts if I can't get the early's in. Hopefully by then my body clock will be happier with a 5am alarm!
Meldy I've always admired your ability to train around shifts. I wouldnt know if I was coming or going, especially in the winter!
Although the pesky bike decided to try and throw me off on a particularly muddy bit I foxed it by an impromptu leap over the handbars and landed on my feet.
I have also been MTBing, so much harder and scarier than being on the road!! Tree roots and steep downhills that are sandy are much scarier than traffic. 2 and a half hours of it though and I had a little run when I had rested a bit after getting home.
I am really trying to hold off on the running and build up steadily, so just half an hour of run/walk, need to try to get my left glute to join in more to help protect my left knee from itself though
Great sock stuffing today run across the moors to the quarry the local teenagers were all just cleaning up after an overnight camp with some mean hangovers looking at the amount of bottles and bongs lying around i think they thought the were still stoned as we all dived in for a swim Wilson the Mighty Irondog let the side down by pissing through an open tent flap onto a snoozing lad all the rest of the kids were killing themselves
Started doing weights anxd core work as well the sock is fillkng nicely

Kate that is good skillz .. one we should all learn for the summer I reckon
Hope, I find it much easier to squeeze a session in when I am on shift, if I did 9-5 there is no way I would get my arse off the sofa !!
Don't go to fast or the chocolate flies off
Took sock for an hour and half on the bike this morning and then for a swim this afternoon.
My sock runneth over with MTBing today.
Although the pesky bike decided to try and throw me off on a particularly muddy bit I foxed it by an impromptu leap over the handbars and landed on my feet.
