Thanks all. Little run this morning, spin, swim, run tonight and OW swimming lesson tomorrow should get the sock drawer sorted. Packing Graham's socks so he can go to the car hospital without them being all sh!tty.
hmm, my weight hasn't changed at all so I need to do something about that. I will start by keeping a food diary, I am pretty sure it is the cake that is the trouble...
been chasing the kids on MTB again! Turns out they are quicker than me so a good workout really
Lovely Thread. My name is Josue (Josh). I am currently recovering from a lot of scar tissue messing up my right ankle; I have not trained much since IMLanza and while I was still aiming to finish Challenge Barna, the mate I was going with cracked his12th vertebra so he is out for the season which means I will pull out of Barna too.
I am pretty weak in all 3 disciplines but my Bike is a bit better than the rest. I hate swimming but duathlons do not move me, is it weird?
My goals are the following but weight loss gets full priority. I am currently 15st
1) Reach 13 stones by end of the year. Finish Insanity Program twice.
2) Swim 3+ days a week for the foreeeable future. Swim long OW twice before season ends.
3) Keep going out on the Bike in winter (MTB?). Schedule 2 interval sets a week with Computrainer. Improve my current FTP by 5% by end of the year (much greater gain in FTP/Kilo if n1 goal is met).
4) No running long until ankle is fully healed. Running Strategy pending on evolution.
5) Improve the IMLanzarote experience in all 3 disciplines. Aim to less walking spells.
6) Finish Alpe DHuez triathlon again.
7) Support PSOF in the Champs (wont be racing)
8) Celebrate my 40th birthday in early August with a DIY event including a triathlon in my hometown in Spain. You are all invited.
Thanks MC, think I might have a bit of a gammy leg, swollen ankle and stiff hip, probably had my foot on the brake when they hit me. Hokori, very specific sh!t for your sock!
Swimming for me again today and then an hour in the gym ... I have been searching for my glutes and I think I may have found them on some evil machine in the corner
My gym is having an 'outdoor gym' built at the moment, it looks like a huge playground and I cant wait to get out there and damage myself trying to turn the clock back** 30+ years
yes and we're now about to start the 5th year of paying for it! we were originally out of catchment but he wanted to go there so we coughed up, thankfully they've now moved the catchment area so No2 son is free
Just finished a 5.5km 38 min run. Added a nice big hill at the end that I would normally avoid. First run in 3 weeks as I've had a dodgy ankle.
I've also lost 5kg in the last 5 weeks, 2 weeks of which I was at Disney World with the family! The hotel had a nice 30m lap pool which I got a lot of use out of.
Still got around 25Kg to go so it is a bit easier at the moment. Realised that bread is my weakness so I've stopped eating it and am eating rice cakes instead. That and being good generally!
Meldy - that's what time I have to be out if I want to train before work - have to be in the shower by 6, so if I want a longer session it is earlier! No wonder I always fall asleep on the sofa watching telly in the evening!

Indeed Kate but taking into account historically how many holes my socks have, it does not matter much really It is all just for show I guess ...

**No Max, no one is as old as you !!!
Another ride and run today, 90 sec intervals for both. tapering yay!
6 km easy run in the sock today. Body feels like it's back to normal and looking forward to increasing distance and pace*
*Not in the same week of course.
I have visions of Meldy on muscle beach in LA now!
You keep those visions Cat ... it aint gonna happen any time soon!!
Playgrounds weren't invented when i were a lad we had to make our own entertainment ........blah, blah, blah rambles on about the good old days
lots of biking today
EP - well done on the weight loss
EP - you're lucky I have to pay £450 for No1 son's school bus
1K swim, spin class then 2 mile run, feeling OK if I ignore my right leg. So just left foot socks for now.

I backed my sock up today with another 3 mile run including a negative split

Feeling epic
5kg? Wow, fab Tycholien
Thanks!

Oh, and nice one on the run.
I've never done a negative split, I always seem to go out too hard, guess I'll get a handle on it one day.
My gym bag is packed full of socks for after work today ..... well thats the intention
I went for a run at 5 to get myself back in the habit of early morning training again. Intending to swim tonight as well
5!! Thats the middle of the night for goodness sake .. I should know, my alarm went off
That was the alarm that went off just after the ginger furry one

I'd be asleep by teattime .. which in fairness I usually am
Nutters. 3km recovery run at 7:45. Back by 8!
I think your recovery pace is faster than my fast pace cat! If only I could run faster I could stay in bed a bit longer!
