So, last weigh in before Austria. 35.5lb lost, managed 3 x century rides, my fastest marathon for about 5 years and 2200 miles since Jan 1st. My sock is well and truly full.
But I managed to sustain a back injury last Friday which means a race against time to get fit for race day. Keep your fingers crossed.
HC, hooray, then boo. Hope you get yourself sorted in time. Forestman for me on Sunday, suffice to say I am looking forward to it and bricking myself in equal measure. Struggling to taper as always, it's not often I'm sober all week and it seems a waste not to use it training.
That's fantastic HC, a very well done. Sounds like the sock is bulging at the seams.
Hopefully the back will sort itself out. Everyone is different though I found running quite good for my last back problem.
I've started to build up again. A couple of time interval sessions, then back at the track for 2 weeks. A good 2hr ride last week and about 7hrs total per week.
Kate - I'm sure we've told you before to take it easy
I wish I did Cat, every Tuesday before track I still get nervous which is ridiculous. Forestman done, what a tough race, swim lovely, bike with a few hills and wild animal hazards then an absolute beast of a run. Was expecting 14 hours so chuffed with 13.34 although disappointed with a 5 hour marathon, and smug as Mr Smuglington Smythe with 2nd in my age group. We don't talk about how few women did the event. Best of luck in Austria HC, have fun and put all that great training to good use.
I still get nervous before track too. I take it as a sign that the body is ready. When I was doing FIRST I got nervous before every run. Glad I've seen the back of that!

I wouldn't recommend moving house and gloss painting ... I shall endeavour to do something this week or I may just taper for Bala !!
Meldy, I don't think you're ever going to go for the conventional.

Oh Kate, that's come round quick. Best of luck and go easy until then Cat it must be such a relief you get back to the routine of it
It is! I derive a vast amount of pleasure from just going round and round and round and round a track
Hope the back is mending
Good luck for Sunday Kate.

We are finally in Klaggers after the longest drive in history and nearly ending up in the Netherlands! It's a very long story.
It's a lovely town. I was working near there a few years ago.
I named my cat 'Klaggers' !!
Enjoy the schnitzel.
Nice racing Kate
