Blisters - is it the heat?

Started getting blisters on either side of my feet near the toes 1 week ago, at first  blamed it on the socks, which was one of my trusted pair, never had any problems with them, and my shoes were 'within mileage', not new and not old. Could the socks be too old?

Someone then tells me it could be the heat causing sweaty feet etc etc that resulting in the blisters.

I've tried different pairs of socks since, including new and old ones, and I keep getting blisters in the same area!

The last time I got blisters due to running was a few years ago after a half marathon.

Just wondering could it really be the heat, as I can't figure out why this sudden surge of blisters. Anyone else had similar experiences?
